maximum / most complex references possible in simpro webhook payload

Post by tonyo » Thu Oct 23, 2025 8:48 am

I have a payload with references like this:

"reference": {
"companyID": 0,
"invoiceID": 3,
"statusID": 16
},

or

"reference": {
"companyID": 0,
"jobID": 3,
"statusID": 16
},

Would like to know the maximum number of such reference IDs that are possible within simpro

Hi there,

Webhook payloads are generated on our side when one of the selected events are triggered, and unfortunately they are not customisable by our clients. We aim for the essentials in our webhook event payloads to avoid bloat in our system and we have carefully determined appropriate webhook payloads to hit your system for each of the available events so that you are able to fetch the newly updated data through our API.

Cheers,

That didn't answer my question. When you generate a payload, what's the maximum number of reference values possible in the reference array?

Hi there,

The maximum number of references that are possible in a webhook payload can be up to 7, that being for customer assets with the second highest being for attachments which can have up to 5. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks,
