Urgent. Authorisation Code Flow - how to specify redirect_uri

Post by tonyo » Thu Oct 16, 2025 5:32 am

We are using the authorisation code flow as detailed in this brief document

https://developer.simprogroup.com/apido ... ed9cca3acb#

Simpro Partner services has given our team the production credentials to use.

When testing (before the production credentials were made available), I created a build specific set of credentials using setup -> api -> Applications -> Create Application, Authentication Method OAUTH2, and there a single redirect URI was entered. This works well with the authorisation code flow and our application.

Problem is we want to test on stage with the production credentials before we push this to production.

Partner Services confirmed we have a production redirect URI and a stage redirect URI with the production credentials. We provided them with both redirect uris.

The OAuth2 standard details a redirect_uri parameter.

https://www.oauth.com/oauth2-servers/redirect-uris/

We've created a ticket to find out if such a parameter is supported and they advised: "You have to use a redirect URL not a redirect_uri parameter." And that further questions should be directed at this forum.

Please advise. This is blocking the release of our application.

Hi Tonyo,

So this would be handled manually by an internal team, if you could just send through your build details for the test environment and the integration creds you are referring to then we should be able to raise a request to have those creds applied to that build.

Reminder: Never paste secrets or confidential information into an open forum

Thanks. I've previously raised the ticket with the internal team. They couldn't provide the answer and asked me to post in this forum.
