Hi,
Can you check if your header includes the Content-Type: application/json or make sure the body type is json.

Re: Issue PATCHing Company Customer custom field
Here is the command:
curl --location --request PATCH 'https://__COMPANY_NAME__.simprosuite.com/api/v1.0/companies/0/customers/21978/customFields/156' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer __TOKEN__' \
--data '{
"Value": "2025-08-31"
}'
Here 156 is the custom field ID that I want to update.
Response body:
{
"errors": [
{
"path": null,
"message": "No data to be updated for customer custom field.",
"value": "156"
}
]
}

--data '{

Re: Issue PATCHing Company Customer custom field
Hi Ashish,
Your request body looks correct and I have copied it directly into my postman for testing successfully.
The error indicates that something is missing from the request body. Such as a missing bracket, or a comma following the value if there is only one value in the JSON being sent. Or if it was set as text format instead of JSON.
This body should work fine for custom fields of type text and date.
As we are unable to replicate this i suggest you create a case with our helpdesk who can try to reproduce this in a copy of your build. Please include your Simpro build name and the id's of the customers and customfields for testing.

Re: Issue PATCHing Company Customer custom field
I figured out. There is nothing wrong with the request body. But the request header was missing "Content-Length" which apparently is required for this PATCH operation.
