New Cost Centre Labour Type

Post by marcelfrn » Thu Feb 29, 2024 4:05 am

Hi team,

In the latest update deployed 25th of February, were changes made to the "Create a new job cost center labor item'" api? Up until the 25th of February, we had no issues creating the Labour Item in the job cost centre and now we are required to include "ID of a Plant Rate' under the Labor Type.

Error message is SimproApiException: POST on ‘https://enterprise-sandbox-au.simprosui ... 211/labor/’ returned status 404. Plant Rate 620 not found. value: 620

Thankfully, this issue is only impacting a small portion of our user base. Why would it be a requirement to have a Plant Rate ID in creating a labour item in the job Cost Centre? and why would it only impact a small portion of our userbase, since the latest update?

I look forward to guidance here, thank you.

Hi marcelfrn,
There has not been any changes in LaborType being compulsory when posting a labor item on the cost centre.

There is a validation to ensure the plant rate being posted is set to billable in the plant rates setup.

If a plant rate is giving you errors when posting check that specific plant rate in your Simpro plant rate setup and tick the billing option.

I hope this solves your issues.

Hi Sindre,

Sorry, no what you've said below doesn't solve the issue because we don't use plant rates for any of our integrated customers. We've never encountered this 'Plant Rate not found error' before, Prior to the 25th of Feb, we weren't every flagged of the need for the Plant Rate ID because this is relating to labour time for a tradesperson to complete the job - not utilities.

I have two examples below using the "Replace Job Cost Centre Labour Item" API call.

If there is anything else I can provide you to assist in solving this, please let me know..
Example of working company - (Name removed). (https://(name removed).simprosuite.com )

Existing labor type: [{u'ID': 2436, u'Name': u'FlatRateNOW LABOUR RATE - Default’}]

Existing labor item on job 357354 before uploading: {u'LaborType': {u'ID': 1, u'Name': u'Labour'}, u'Discount': 0, u'Claimed': None, u'SellPrice': {u'ExDiscountExTax': 180, u'ExTax': 180, u'IncTax': 198, u'ExDiscountIncTax': 198}, u'Total': {u'Amount': {u'ExTax': 0, u'IncTax': 0}, u'Qty': 0}, u'ID': 564753}

Successfully create new cost centre labor item for job 357354:
{
u'ProjectedTime': 1.5, u'LaborType': {u'ID': 2436, u'Name': u'FlatRateNOW LABOUR RATE - Default'}, u'DateModified': u'2024-02-29T19:19:20+10:30', u'Ticked': False, u'LaborRate': 140, u'SalesTaxCode': {u'Rate': 10, u'Code': u'GST', u'Type': u'Single', u'ID': 1}, u'Discount': 0, u'LaborMarkup': 28.571428571429, u'Claimed': None, u'SellPrice': {u'ExDiscountExTax': 180, u'ExTax': 180, u'IncTax': 198, u'ExDiscountIncTax': 198}, u'Total': {u'Amount': {u'ExTax': 270, u'IncTax': 297}, u'Qty': 1.5}, u'ID': 564754, u'IncomeAccount': {u'Number': u'41520', u'ID': 49, u'Name': u'Sales - Plumbing [Residential]’}
}
Example of not working master - MD Electrical & Plumbing (https://enterprise-sandbox-au.simprosuite.com - FRN Test - Quoc)

Exisiting labor type: [{u'ID': 620, u'Name': u'FlatRateNOW LABOUR RATE - Default’}]

Existing labor item on job 52659 before uploading: []

Failed to create new cost centre labor item for job 52659 with error:
POST on 'https://enterprise-sandbox-au.simprosui ... 211/labor/' returned status 404. Plant Rate 620 not found.

Hi Sindre,

the example of the business that worked in me post from Friday now fails with the same error.

They have had no change to their configuration so this issue is now becoming far more significant and i really need assistance.

Can you please direct me to where I need to go to get hands-on assistance?

Hi there,

We have also started experiencing this issue today. We have a similar setup, a company which doesn't have any Plant/Plant Rates. We have started getting this error today when trying to add Labor Items to a Job Cost Centre. We send the Labor Item ID as the LaborType field, but the API seems to be expecting a Plant Rate ID (which we don't use).

This is also an issue for us. I've been over the last few API release note posts and I can't see anything related to this.

Do you know when you might have an update on this?

We have also started having this issue yesterday and our jobs fail on creation due to this.

Any update when this might be resolved as we cannot schedule any jobs as they are erroring halfway through creating.
