Link a customer and a contact using the API

Post by MarcSS » Wed Jun 22, 2022 2:32 pm

Is there a way to link an existing customer and existing contact together using the API, becuase I can't see if/how it can be done.

Creating a Customer Contact using the API works as expected, and creates a link between the two, but I can't figure out how to do it if the contact already exists.

TIA.
Marc.

Hi MarcSS,
Thank you for raising this questions. This is currently not offered by the API but I will move this post into out feature requests.

For a temporary fix please do this in SimPRO directly on your customer. There is a field there to add an existing contact.

Hi Sindre,

Has there been any update on this. It seems a pretty rudimentary requirement. We are importing loads of contacts from the other system and would like to link them to the companies without manually doing it.

Hi,

It is currently possible to link an existing contact to add against a Customer, Site or Supplier as follows

Code: Select all

method: POST
URL:

Code: Select all

https://{buildURL}/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/customers/{customerID}/contacts/
Request Body:

Code: Select all

{
    "Contact": {contactID}
}
