Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi,
I've seen two posts dating back 12-18 months that ask how to source Vendor Receipt Credit Notes modified since the last date in the new API. We have the same issue and am wondering if there has been any progress to a solution? A dsecription of the problem is:
1) We are able to source vendor Receipts modified since using the following
We run an initial call (A) /api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/vendorReceipts/ to get a list of all Vendor Receipts that have been changed or created since the last integration run. This gives a list of VendorOrderId & vendorReceiptId pairs
Then we loop through the list provided and make a call to /api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/vendorOrders/{vendorOrderID}/receipts/{vendorReceiptID} for each record. For these calls you need to know the VendorOrderId (PurchaseOrder), and the VendorReceiptId as provided by the first call (Call A). Even though vendorReceiptId is a unique identifier you can’t source the data from the API unless you know the order number it’s associated with.
2) However for Vendor Receipt Credit Notes
There does not appear to be an equivalent API call to get a list of all Vendor Receipt credits that have been change/created since the last integration run, so we don’t know which credit records we then need to go out and get. To source credit note data you call /api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/vendorOrders/{vendorOrderID}/receipts/{vendorReceiptID}/credits/{vendorCreditID} so need to know the OrderId, ReceiptId and CreditId.
The previous posts I mentioned suggest reverting to V1 of the API. Is this still the only option, and if so where can I find the documentation on this?
Some help would be appreciated as we have just gone live with an integration that does all the Simpro client wanted but this (so they are not that happy).
Thanks,
John

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hello John,
A top level vendor credit notes endpoint would solve your issue, however, unfortunately we still do not have that.
https://developer.simprogroup.com/apido ... ca483ed53c
For example, you can get basic information for a receipt.
/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/vendorReceipts/?ID={vendorReceiptID}
You can also use in parameter if you have multiple receipts.

For that you can try our vendor receipt search endpoint.Even though vendorReceiptId is a unique identifier you can’t source the data from the API unless you know the order number it’s associated with.

HI,
Thanks for the speedy reply. Much appreciated.
So, using V1 of the API is the only option? Is there some documentation around on this?
John.

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi,
Thank you for supplying the documentation. Have reviewed and it all looks straight forwards.
One last question, is there a timeline to sunset V1 and would this occur before a solution to this "credits modified since" is provided?
I'm just trying to understand the life span of utilising V1 as a point solution for this particualr issue.
Thanks for your help, awesome support.

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble with Authentication.
So far I have had a read of the documentation, read up JSON-RPC, and searched the forum for similar issues. JSON-RFC is not something I have used before (but looks OK).
Can you please help me with the following:
Q1: How do I determine our Build name for https://buildname.simpro.co/api/?format=json.
I tried inferring this from the URL we are using for our V2 api calls by assuming the V2 format is https://buildname.simprosuite.com/api/v1.0/companies/0 but my requests are timing out without response which almost always means the URL is incorrect.
Q2: We want to Authenticate using Direct Access and OAuth 1.0. How do we get a Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. I tried registering an application in setup/api/applications choosing OAuth 2.0 as the closest option available to OAuth 1.0. I choose "Client Credentials" as the option to get a Client Id and Client Secret.
Are these substitutable for Consumer Key and Consumer Secret in the below (taken from Direct Access at https://api.simpro.co/index.html, and is Client Credentials the right option for Direct access?
OAuth Details:
Consumer Key: sandbox-simpro
Consumer Secret: kQHjbVkKzPv0Y6-Oscwi2ORxBAev7PP-LjtTsH9Qv14K6TXqxPHXFOLaQoDmAjH0Kt48KRpeIFpcKcdBJA5z7Q
Signature Method: HMAC-SHA1
Access Type: 2-legged
Host/ Subnet: 0.0.0.0/0
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Just wondering what turnaround time we should expect on the questions asked? I know it's just coming up on 2 business days but we have a client wanting some answers.
Thanks,
John.

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi John,
Sorry for the late reply, our old API specialist is currently away so I'll try to answer your questions as best as I could:
a1. the buildname is whatever prefix you have in the URL, e.g.:
https://businessname.simprosuite.com and then "businessname" is your buildname
to access old API, your URL should start with https://businessname.simprosuite.com/api/
a2. Since our old API is no longer in active development, the only way to create an API key is via:
https://businessname.simprosuite.com/st ... _Consumers
cheers,

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your response, am making progress in that the Url you supplied works (is different to the one supplied in the documentation earlier this week)
Have been to the Legacy API setup screen via the link you provided but am a little unsure what to put in the Application Url and the HostName. Have tried a few variations and recieved a consumer Key and Consumer Secret but can't get past the below.
{
"result": null,
"error": {
"faultCode": 0,
"faultString": "Access Denied:Unauthorised Access From Host:10.99.0.81"
},
"id": "0"
}
So, could you please clarify what to add into the URL and the Host/Subnet(CIDR) fields. Also, do we need a publicly available Application Url and a fixed IP address to authenticate?
Thanks for your help,
JOhn.

Re: Retrieving Vendor Credit Notes Modified Since
Hi,
Have spent some more tim eon this and have progressed. Can now make calls and am receiving data, so we must be getting towards the end of this thread
Possibly the last issue is that I'm finding the results from the calls is intermittent, In Postman I can make the exact same call and get data but approx 1 time out of 3 get and Invalid Signature, so I think I might not have somrthing quite right.
{
"result": null,
"error": {
"faultCode": 0,
"faultString": "Access Denied:Invalid signature"
},
"id": "0"
}
The payload I'm posting is {"method":"SupplierCreditSearch","params":{"CompanyID":0,"StartDate":"2020-11-15"}} but a simialr thing happens with other API calls.
