API changes in Feb that have affected Zapier links

Post by cmelecqld » Tue Mar 11, 2025 9:48 am

Hi team,

Bear with me because I'm completely computer software illiterate.

I paid a specialist to implement a number of Zapier links with Jotform, Google Sheets and SimPro. I noticed they stopped working last week, so I contacted the specialist to see what was wrong. He sent me the following response:

Looking at your current automations and their run history, this looked to be running as needed until approximately February 27th last month with all items in the history showing successfully.

However since February 28th, when attempting to create a Lead in SimPRO this is providing an API error as follows - this error notification generally means that their API no longer supports POST or 'creation' methods of this type, which will stop 'Leads' from being created into the system.

"This API Column does not allow POST requests"

When this errors too many times, this will cause the overall automation to deactivate and stop running which appears to be the case.

Unfortunately the API error above isn't something I'm able to configure for and would need the SimPRO team to advise on, as this would appear to mean that changes have been made into their API or one of their endpoints is no longer publically available - I would recommend either opening a Support Ticket with their team or if you can advise whether you have a SimPRO Contact you work with we can submit anything on your behalf, however as we don't have a SimPRO account directly they unfortunately don't have any direct support avenues for our team to use.

Any help would be much appreciated; feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]

Hi,

The API definitely supports Lead creation, see documentation here: https://developer.simprogroup.com/apido ... e5e3c7bcf1

Ask your specialist to confirm what key/bearer value they are using to access the API and confirm it still exists in SimPro under Setup>API>Applications. Perhaps its been deleted by error?

Edit: seems like someone else has a similar problem: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2858

Thanks Matt

Last reply on that discussion with the similar issue says the problem will be fixed in an upcoming update - any idea when that update will be?

Cheers,

Cam
