API to manage task templates under Setup

Hi,
It would be useful to be able to manage task template creations and edits via the API.
Currently the option exists for Categories, can this be extended to include the take template and underlying setup of a tasks within the template.
Our particular scenario is we are on mulit-company with shared task templates for compliance and monitoring purposes, currently when editing or creating new task templates this must all be done manually across each company and very time consuming.
