Hi everyone,

Today we are writing to inform you that Simpro SOAP legacy API is now officially deprecated and we are planning to fully shut it down in two (2) years from the deprecation date.

Key Dates:

Deprecation Date: 23 July 2024
End of Support Date: 23 July 2025
Full Shutdown Date: 23 July 2026

The SOAP API dates from the earliest generation of Simpro API offerings; we've made many improvements since that time. The SOAP API will remain functional until the full shutdown date, but we strongly recommend beginning the transition to our REST API, released in 2018, as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted service. The REST API delivered better authentication with OAuth 2.0, improved API Keys and expanded webhook capabilities.

Why are we making this change?

Performance and Scalability: The REST API offers improved performance and scalability, enabling better handling of large volumes of requests and data.

Flexibility and Simplicity: The REST API is easier to use and integrate with, providing a more straightforward approach to API interactions.

Modern Standards: REST API services align with modern web standards, ensuring better compatibility and security.

How to Migrate to the REST API:

1. Review Documentation: Our comprehensive REST API Documentation provides detailed information on endpoints, request/response formats, authentication methods, and more : https://developer.simprogroup.com/
2. Update Your Integrations: Begin updating your systems to interact with the REST API instead of the SOAP API. Ensure thorough testing to confirm compatibility and performance.
3. Seek Support: If you encounter any issues or have questions during the migration process, please post on this forum and we will provide support.
