Trying to create a Job Cost Center Schedule for Plant

Post by JoelTLC » Thu Apr 09, 2026 2:09 am

Does anyone know how to create a Job Cost Centre schedule item for plant/equipment using the API?

I have been successful in creating a schedule for Staff by using the 'CREATE A NEW JOB COST CENTER SCHEDULE' endpoint:

/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/jobs/{jobID}/sections/{sectionID}/costCenters/{costCenterID}/schedules/

The normal payload is:

{
"Staff": {staffID},
"Date": "2024-08-22",
"Blocks": [
{
"StartTime": "08:00",
"EndTime": "16:00",
"ScheduleRate": {scheduleRateID}
}
]
}

It's possible to replace the {staffID} field with a Plant/Equipment ID to create a new schedule, which is great! - but this is not the plant ID that you get from the 'LIST ALL PLANT AND EQUIPMENT' endpoint. It's another ID that is provided in a list of Employees when creating a schedule from the SimPRO Web UI (if you inspect the webpage). The secret plant/equipment ID does not appear to be available in the API anywhere.

I found that a plant/equipment schedule could be created after querying the existing schedules (which contained a schedule item for a plant/equipment). Using the 'secret' plant ID from that, I was able to create a new schedule.

At this stage my only option appears to be scrapping the ID's from the web interface - which I am sure SimPRO would not appreciate.

Hi Joel,

I understand the confusion here as the plants you are talking about are technically stored as "staff"

If you could try a request like this it may help you find what you're looking for more easily.
GET /api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/staff/?Type=plant
