Standard Prebuild Prices

Hi everyone,
I’m working on creating a new standard prebuild and have a few questions regarding the fields under the Pricing section.
Through the API, how can we uncheck the following boxes?
- Materials → Cost → Based on Build
- Rates → Based on Defaults
Additionally, how can we set the Materials Cost and Sell Price on the main standard prebuild via the API?
It seems that not all the fields visible in the UI dialog box are available in the API request body. This functionality is very important for our integrations and business workflows, as we need to create prebuilds and populate the fields under the Pricing section programmatically via the API.

Hi there,
When creating a standard price prebuild through the API you can specify the "TotalEx" field to set the labor rate price of an item and you can also set the "LaborTime" field to denote the amount of labor for the prebuild. As the material cost and markups is calculated after an item/s gets added to the prebuild, we do not allow this to be set through the API.
If you would like to request this as a potential feature, you can do so here -

Thanks,

Hi team,
Thank you so much for your response. Just to confirm my understanding — is it not possible, via the API, to set the material cost on the Main Prebuild as well as on the Quote/Job Cost Center prebuild item when they are associated?
Also, you mentioned that material cost and markups were calculated based upon item(s) being added to the pre-build. How is this accomplished through the API?
As a follow up, when I try to set the sell price on the Quote Cost Center prebuild item using the following endpoint:
Code: Select all
/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/quotes/{quoteID}/sections/{sectionID}/costCenters/{costCenterID}/prebuilds/
—it doesn’t update the value. The field appears grayed out in the UI. Could you please help me understand why this is happening?

Hi pranit,
If the UI shows it's greyed out/Disabled, it means it's not an editable field. If it's not editable from the front end, an API request will behave the same. That's why it's not updated.
Feel free to reach out to support if you need more help with how to use Simpro Premium itself.

Hi team,
Thank you for the response. The fields appear to be editable once the check boxes are unchecked on the Prebuild. Do we have the functionality to uncheck these boxes from the API?

Hi Pranit,
I am one of the product managers for the APIs. We have accessed your request and created a ticket for the backlog. We will pick it up as soon as possible. If you have further requirements, please post here and we'll review them as soon as possbile.
Thanks,
Gareth.

Hi Gareth and team,
Thank you for your response. I believe these features have now been implemented. Could you please advise on how we can uncheck these boxes via the API and edit the prices for the Quote/Job Cost Center prebuilt item, as shown in the images included in the message above?

Hi Pranit,
You will need to use the prebuild endpoint to make updates to the prebuild.
https://developer.simprogroup.com/apido ... 5b72f09a8a
Code: Select all
PATCH /api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/prebuilds/standardPrice/{standardPricePrebuildID}
You can get the prebuild ID from the endpoint.
Code: Select all
/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/quotes/{quoteID}/sections/{sectionID}/costCenters/{costCenterID}/prebuilds/
Patching from the cost centre level will only update the values from the cost centre, while updating the actual Prebuild details needs to be updated on the prebuild endpoint.
Hope that makes sense.
