How to tell if a job card / work order has been completed for a schedule?

There is no data within work order that would suggest a work order has been completed. However you can look at the mobile status logs, if technicians are using simPRO mobile application.

Is it correct that when a schedule is created for a job, a work order/job card is simultaneously created?

In timesheets I can see only the job cards that have been completed. So there must be some way to differentiate between those that have been completed and those not?

No. You can test it on the web application, create a schedule for an employee, access the cost center work order endpoint.

Employee time sheets are just schedules, you can view schedule of an employee on any date (past, future) regardless of whether the work has been performed on the workorders based on those schedules.

api/v1.0/companies/0/employees/{employeeID}/timesheets/?StartDate=2021-12-04&EndDate=2021-12-05

Above endpoint should work as long as an employee is scheduled within given date range.

I created a new schedule for which a job card was not created (by me). However:

Code: Select all

"/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/jobs/{jobID}/sections/{sectionID}/costCenters/{costCenterID}/schedules/"
and

Code: Select all

"/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/jobs/{jobID}/sections/{sectionID}/costCenters/{costCenterID}/workOrders/"
both returned:

Code: Select all

[{'ID': xxx, 'TotalHours': 1.5, 'Staff': {'ID': yyy, 'Name': 'zzz', 'Type': 'employee', 'TypeId': 78}, 'Date': '2020-12-08'}]
This is why I believed a work order/job card is simultaneously created when a schedule is created. What am I missing?

You can go through the helpguide or contact support for more information about schedules and work orders.

I did as you suggested and did not get the expected result. Can you explain that?

I should have said rest api, instead of web application. Create a schedule from rest api and check work order endpoint.

Cool, cool. Can I access the work orders of an employee without specifying job, cost center etc.?

Something like:

Code: Select all

"/api/v1.0/companies/{companyID}/workOrders/?Staff.ID=0&Date=2020-12-08"

We do not have a top level endpoint for work orders. You will need to have a job, section and cost center IDs to access a work order.
