Question re mobile triggers

Post by Michael » Mon Jun 15, 2020 4:57 am

Hi Guys,

I have been working with several simPRO customers on fixitfaster integration

I have Question re mobile triggers

With the following set up

statues
“Travelling to Site” (with ignore status priority switched On)
“4a Job: In Progress”

mobile trigger:
“travelling” sets status to “Traveling to site” and (job stage to “In Progress”)\

Trigger:
“A job has been put in the in-progress list” sets to status “4a Job: In Progress”

Behaviour Im seeing,
if “4a Job: In Progress” has a higher priority then “Travelling to Site”, then status will always be “4a Job: In Progress” whenever clicking “start Travel” from mobile connect App. This is independent of whether to not “ignore status priority” is switched on for “Travelling to Site”

Is this expected behaviour, Im surprised that “ignore status priority” has no effect, or perhaps Im misunderstanding something?

Any help or clarification on this would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

We have just confirmed with other developers and it is a expected behaviour
The mobile trigger happens first, then the effect of that is that the “A job has been put in the in-progress list” tigger will fire. So that happens second. So the second one will be what you end up with.
Could you please PM us the URL so we can take a look of the setting just in case?

cheers,

Hi Michael,

To further clarify, the process would be:

mobile trigger:
“travelling” sets status to “Traveling to site” and (job stage to “In Progress”)

Does "travelling" have ignore status priority or a higher status that the current status?
Yes it has ignore status priority, so perform Update status and any stage update set.

At this point this interaction particular status update is now complete.

Trigger:
“A job has been put in the in-progress list” sets to status “4a Job: In Progress”

Does "4a Job: In Progress" have ignore status priority or a higher status that the current status?
Yes it has a higher status so perform Update status and any stage update set.

At this point this interaction particular status update is now complete.

You can see these the steps to determine each status and stage are independant of each other.

Hi Vaughan and Rick,

Thanks for the quick response.

Just a further clarification

Why does automatic trigger “A job has been put in the in-progress list” get invoked, is it because mobile trigger "travelling" sets job-stage to "In Progress" which in turn causes the invocation of that trigger?

Thanks,
Michael
