Also experiencing the same webhook issues since Sept 29. I tried sending a test connection event and nothing is going through.

@Kris, can you send posts from https://reqbin.com/ to your server?

If you put your server host into https://chainchecker.certifytheweb.com/ what is the certificate chain? Mine is

Code: Select all

▶▶ R3 ▶▶ ISRG Root X1 ▶▶ [DST Root CA X3]

Let's Encrypt Legacy Chain (Supports older devices)

This Let's Encrypt chain includes the expired DST Root CA X3 in order to remain compatible with older operating system such as Android 7.0 and lower.
It would be interesting to see if yours is the same...

A webhook bug which was affecting simPRO builds to not generate create events has been patched. Please let me know if you guys still have any issues related to `job.created` webhook event.

Apologies for the delay in patching the issue.

We are also in a process to make sure we are on a latest SSL certificate which may be affecting some hosts to respond with SSL expired error. I ll come back with more details on this one by tomorrow.

Adam,

We had the same problem with our SSL Certificate as it looks like the simpro webhooks don't work with the new letsencrypt root CA.

https://letsencrypt.org/docs/dst-root-c ... ember-2021

We now have a new SSL certificate with another provider (zerossl) and it's working again now.

Webhooks stopped being triggerer within my application as well after Sep 29th. So they just don't work with new certificates or what?

Hi Alex,

My summary of the situation is:
  • For an SSL certificate for be trusted it needs to be linked to a root certificate which is trusted by the client (in this case the "client" is SimPro's servers sending data to our servers).
  • Let's Encrypt certificates are signed by the "ISRG Root X1" root certificate. They also 'cross sign' them with the "DST Root CA X3" for compatibility with older Android devices, but that certificate expired last week.
  • Most modern systems should have the newer "ISRG Root X1" root certificate installed, in which case they will continue to trust Let's Encrypt certificates.
I have also replaced my SSL certificates with free alternatives from zerossl (thanks @michelle for the tip), and SimPro's webhooks are now coming through again.

Hopefully when SimPro install the "ISRG Root X1" certificate I will revert back to Let's Encrypt...

Hello all,

The SSL certificate on our webhook delivery server has been updated which should resolve any SSL expiry issue.

Thank you Chris for the suggestions you made on the issue.

Is Webhooks still down?
My webhooks are not working, and testing the subscription in SimPRO, sends, but is not received.

I have tested the connector by posting a JSON to the URL from powershell and that works.

Hi Carl,

We just tested the webhook feature and it is working as expected, do you mind to send us your build and the object & action (job, quote, lead | create, update, delete) via private message, we will check it for you, thank you

I have a webhooks that is set to run on Job Stage being updated on Pending, Progress, Complete, Invoiced and Archived.

Currently it only works on Pending and Progress.

Complete, Invoiced and Archived are not triggering. Can someone please help with this?
