API - Resource Owner Credentials Grant for customer account

Post by nelaustria » Wed Oct 23, 2019 2:58 am

Hi,

Does any one could help me on this?

We can access the sandbox account that was provided to us but We still can't get the access token for simPRO "customer account" but we are able to get access token for "employee account". We are using Resource Owner Credentials Grant to get the access token.

How can get access token for "customer account"?
Is getting access token for customer is different from the employee?

Getting the access token for the customer is the most important part of our project.

Users cannot login to the client (customer) portal that we are building and cannot access simPRO API endpoints without it.

Thank you

Hello,

Customer accounts at this point can not access our API. Customer accounts can only be used on customer portal.

Any work around on this?

Why is it not accessible considering the employee account is accessible

Are you able to give us all the information about what you are trying to achieve and we can see if there is a way to achieve what you are after.

Here is the objective. We are developing a simple module wherein we can pull information from customer account.

Background:

simPRO provided us a sandbox account. with the sandbox account we can create credentials for employee and customer

with the use of your API-Resource Owner Credentials Grant as we followed only the employee account can be access for the customer account we fail to authenticate

With this how can we access the customer account using your API

Once you authenticate to the simPRO account, you can access any customer data you require?

Your response seem to be too vague. As I've said from the sandbox account with the username and password we can access the entire module. We can create credentials in employee account as well as customer account. In short we can do anything in inside sandbox.

We create a simple module wherein we are using API - Resource Owner Credentials Grant to access the employee and customer meaning we do integration using your API.

We tried first to access the employee account and it was successfully authenticated using the credentials we created in the sandbox.
But unfortunately with customer account authentication failed using the credentials we created in the sandbox.

I'm just wondering why customer is not accessible wherein employee is accessible using the same process. Is there any limitation on your API?
or is it not yet available?

This leads to my question is there any work around

Thanks

Is there any update on this? I am trying to develop a better looking customer portal with features we use in our industry, using the login details and the customer information within SimPRO for each of our clients.
